Was reading up on the OC Fish & Wildlife pages after seeing tracks along Oso Creek Trail, and one thing stuck with me: the biggest driver of coyotes getting bold isn't the coyotes, it's us feeding them by accident. Fallen avocados and citrus, pet food left on the patio, unsecured trash the night before pickup, even the koi ponds. A coyote that never scores an easy meal in a yard mostly keeps moving through. So if you're near the creek or the ridgelines off Marguerite, worth a walk-around of your own place first. Access the Coyote Cacher to log sightings too, it actually helps the county map where the food sources are.
