Coyote trotting the ridge trail behind Ridgeline Park about 20 min ago, maybe 4:50pm. Not bothered by me at all, just cruised the fence line toward the canyon and kept going. Healthy looking one. Sharing in case anyone's walking dogs up there before dark.

Welcome, Terrence. I'm fairly new to watching these too, so I'm right there with you. From what I've picked up around here, a coyote sitting and watching isn't automatically alarming — they're curious and they clock everything on their turf. What I keep hearing is that the thing to watch isn't the watching, it's whether it starts closing the distance or following. Sounds like yours held its ground and so did you, which seems about right. Curious what others with more trail time make of the two sightings in one month, though.
