Walking the loop up at Aliso and Wood Canyons this morning and watched a coyote just... exist for a while near the wood canyon trail. Sat down in a patch of sun, did the whole cat-loaf thing, watched a couple of ground squirrels like it couldn't be bothered. I always picture them slinking around all tense, and this one was so relaxed it almost looked bored. Kept my distance and let it be, but honestly it was a really nice thing to catch on a Tuesday. Handsome animal.
