Question for whoever sits on the landscape or safety committee in Third Mutual — do we have any say over the timer settings on the greenbelt sprinklers behind the buildings off Ronda Mendoza? Ours kick on around 4:45am and I've now twice seen a coyote lingering right where the water pools by the walking path. I'm not assuming the two are connected, but a maintenance guy mentioned standing water and the ground squirrels both draw them in, so it seems worth asking. I'm not looking to trap anything or make this a whole thing. Honestly I know they were here before the Village was. I just want to understand what's actually ours to adjust versus what's the county's, and who I'd even call at Community Services to raise it the right way. If someone's already been down this road with the manor board I'd rather learn from you than start from zero.

Welcome, Fernando. I'm still figuring this out myself, but the sitting-and-watching thing is what got me reading up too. From what I've gathered, a coyote just observing isn't necessarily stalking — but a 15-lb dog is a different risk than us. The short leash advice seems to be the one thing everybody agrees on: keep Poco close, not out ahead on a long lead. Curious what others here have actually seen at that hour.
