Saw a thread going around about the coyotes near the Salt Creek trail and figured I'd add a little perspective. I walk that stretch below Chapparosa most mornings and I run into one pretty regularly, usually just trotting the ridge line minding its own business. It's not stalking anyone. That's its route the same way the trail is ours. The couple times it's paused to look at me I just make myself big, clap once, keep walking. It moves on every time. Leash your dog through there and give it room and honestly it's a non-event. They've been working that canyon a lot longer than the houses have. We can share it.
