Saw a couple folks in the neighborhood talking about "getting rid of" the coyote that's been trotting the greenbelt behind Serrano Creek Park, and I want to gently push back on that. That corridor is theirs — it's literally why it exists, wildlife moving between the creek and the canyon. We're the newcomers to that stretch, not them. Nothing I've watched that one do has been aggressive. It's cutting through, ignoring people, doing coyote stuff. The fix isn't removal, it's just us being a little sharper: leash on the trail, keep some distance, and if one gets too comfortable, make yourself big and loud so it stays wary of us. That's the whole game. Coexisting works a lot better than most people expect once you stop expecting them to leave.
