Saw a thread going around about the coyote near the Oso Creek Trail by the golf course and people talking about calling to have it "dealt with." I walk that stretch behind Marguerite most mornings and honestly the ones I see there are just trotting through, minding their own business. That greenbelt was their route long before it was ours. Leash your dog, don't let it lunge, give them room and they move right along. The trouble usually starts when someone's been leaving food out or the trash cans by the trailhead aren't latched. Way more useful to fix that than to panic every time one crosses the path.
