We lost our cat Mochi sometime Sunday night. She was an indoor girl mostly but she'd slip out the back and hang around the greenbelt behind our place off Del Prado near the harbor, and she always came back by morning. This time she didn't. I found tracks in the mud by the drainage ditch and I think I know what happened, even if I don't want to say it out loud. I keep going back and forth. Part of me is angry and part of me knows they were just being what they are, and that it's on us for letting her roam. I'm not looking to blame anything. I just wanted to say her name somewhere. If anyone near the Lantern District has seen a small gray tabby I'd still love to hear it, but I think I already know. Bringing our other one in at night from now on.
